Wells: That is an excellent question I am often asked and one I enjoy answering. Resellers are changing the face of hosting due to the impact that new software automation tools have had over the last couple of years. These new tools have driven down the administrative costs associated with provisioning hosting by shifting site administration from host to customer. This is coupled with significant price drops in the hardware industry over the last few years. The above cost reduction influence has created a ripple effect that significantly drove down the price that a hosting company needs to charge to realize significant returns. This will continue to fuel growth due to the fact that these factors will remain prevalent over the next few years. These factors will also allow companies that have core competencies in areas other than hosting (such as web design or hardware) to offer quality hosting services that are tailored to vertical industries.
ResellerConnection.com:Describe the typical Interservers reseller in terms of number of clients, service offerings, industry, location, etc.
Wells: If you were to take a cross-section, you would probably find that our average Reseller houses about 20 domains with us. It is difficult to pin down exactly what the profile of a typical Interservers reseller is. The wonderful thing about our reseller service is that we can accommodate a reseller with 1 domain or 1000 domains with the same level of service integrity.
ResellerConnection.com:What can Interservers offer international resellers? How many of your resellers are outside the US and Canada?
Wells: Our customers span the globe. At this time, roughly 30% of our customer base is outside of the United States, with about half coming from Europe. We market all over the world and always keep international considerations in the forefront of our minds when structuring our service offerings.
