ResellerConnection.com recently caught up with Duane Wells, CEO of Interservers. Here's what he had to say about the reselling industry and Interserver's role therein.
ResellerConnection.com:First, please give ResellerConnection.com readers a brief introduction to Interservers. What are your hosting core competencies, and what do you offer prospective resellers?
Wells: Interservers is a company that was actually born from the needs of a very important reseller: ourselves. We are a hosting company that was once a design firm that needed a good infrastructure to provide hosting to our customers. We searched high and low for a company that could provide us with the flexibility and autonomy necessary to make our customers feel confident in our ability to provide them with a quality home for their web sites. After several bad incidents, we decided to craft and provision our own hosting service and use the lessons we learned as a catalyst for providing a better hosting service to our customers.
ResellerConnection.com:Generally, what is Interservers' approach to reselling? How does the Interservers reseller program fit with its overall service offering, and what role will resellers play in the company's long-term growth strategy?
Wells: That's a great question and the answer is something that we emphasize to our potential customers when they are considering us for their hosting and/or reselling needs. Our approach is unique in that we actually designed our infrastructure around resellers from the ground up. It is our core business. We study what resellers want and apply that information to do everything from designing our equipment to structuring our policies, procedures and prices.
ResellerConnection.com:Briefly, what are your primary reseller packages? Which operating systems and control panels are available?
Wells: We offer a variety of reseller packages to accommodate just about anyone that is responsible for one or more domain names. Our "Webplatter" reseller line of unlimited domain packages never keeps track of how many domains you host with us. The Webplatter Mini starts out at $29.99 for a generous 2.5 gigabytes of disk space. You can choose between the Webplatter Mini, Webplatter 1, Webplatter 2, and Our enormous Webplatter 3 which includes 12 gig of disk and 90 gig of bandwidth for only $79.99 per month. All of our servers run on Linux and utilize the powerful Cpanel/Web Host Manager control panel platform. We are also Certified Cpanel/Web Host Manager partners so we are set up with a direct line to the developers in case of any issues they may need to get involved with.
